Everest Base Camp trekking starts by flying over 35 minutes from Kathmandu airport to a tiny airstrip at Lukla (2,800Mt.) This is an entry point to Everest Base Camp and other Everest region trekking. Flying from Kathmandu to Lukla offers a great mountain view including of Mt. Everest. If you take a seat on the left rows of the aircraft that would offer an excellent view.
